Athlone is a good place. When you don't have a car it's a bit challenging to get there, not impossible but it just takes longer say coming from Highlands you'd have to go back to town yet it's 10 mins or so away when driving. I love that it has access to most major roads, you can use Mutare road, you can use Acturus or you can access Harare drive then straight into Enterprise. It's a calm place . At some point there were streetlights but not anymore it's beautiful in the evenings when it's wel lit. Then the Athlone shops have everything including tuckshops for groceries and also you can go to Kamfinsa even by foot
